| Public health | | PUBLIC HEALTH |  Due to the synthesis of its physical sanitary components (fresh air, healing spring waters) Dilijan is considered an exclusive land. Taking into consideration the components mentioned the TB dispensary, first in Armenia, has been open in Dilijan in 1921. Later on a TB hospital has been open here and they both have been functioned till the 80-s.
The treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis, extrapulmonary tuberculosis, alimentary canal deseases, hepar and gall-bladder bile- ducts and pancreas deseases has been specialized in.
Today a hospital with all necessary technical equipment and 96 beds, a polyclinics and a children’s clinic function here. Since the 70-s “ Lernayin Hayastan” and “Dilijan” health centres with 240 seats and the Republican Children’s sanatorium for consumptives with 120 seats, more than 20 various holiday-homes and boarding houses (including the Houses of Composers and Cinematographers) belonging to different departments and private persons, as well as summer rest camps have been working here.
